Armenian ambassador to Germany Ashot Smbatyan attended on Monday ProWein international trade fair in Düsseldorf, Armenian MFA press service reported.

According to the source, Armenia has its separate pavilion this year.

About 20 Armenian companies engaged in the production of alcoholic beverages were represented this year during the trade fair.

The companies presented their products, discussed with the ambassador the steps to be taken to expand the range of Armenian alcoholic beverages in the German market.

The opening was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, the mayor of Düsseldorf, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics and Energy of Germany and other high-ranking officials.

The international exhibition of wines and alcoholic beverages ProWein has been held in Düsseldorf since 1994. At the fair, about 7,000 companies from 130 countries have the opportunity to present their products to about 60,000 visitors and over 1,000 journalists.
