The Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Province of Armenia on Tuesday denied the petition by the legal successors of the injured party in the case into Julieta Ghukasyan, 57, a Gyumri resident who had died as a result of being brutally beaten by a Russian soldier.
The petition had requested that Andrey Razgildevev, a servicemen of the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri, be transferred from this military base to an Armenian penitentiary, Sputnik Armenia reported.
On December 3, 2018 a criminal case was filed into the death of the aforesaid woman, and on charges of premeditated murder.
The woman had died in hospital, and as a result of the severe injuries she had sustained.
Razgildevev is a defendant in the criminal case.
Even though the soldier was detained by a court decision, he is kept in the aforementioned Russian military base, and not at a detention center of Armenian law enforcement agencies; this has caused the dissatisfaction of the legal successors of the injured party.
In this connection, the legal successors had filed a petition, and with a request to put on the pretrial proceedings the matter of transferring this Russian military serviceman to an Armenian prison.
