YEREVAN. – About 5,000 trees will be planted in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, during the volunteer labor this coming Saturday, the Yerevan Municipality informed.

“This year, we have also toughened the requirements for seedlings,” noted Khachik Hakobyan, acting head of Nature Protection Department at Yerevan city hall. “They will be much more lasting, with thicker diameter, vertical axis, and higher.”

The areas reminiscent of a landfill will be cleaned, too.

The Saturday volunteer labor in Yerevan will be accompanied by festive events, added Gosh Sargsyan, acting head of Culture Department at the city hall.
