The two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand where a gunman killed 50 Muslim worshippers last week reopened on Saturday, BBC reported.

Previously, the buildings were closed to allow the police to conduct an investigation, but on Saturday, small groups of people were allowed to return to the mosque.

Some 3,000 people reportedly walked through Christchurch on Saturday for a 'march for love' intended to honour victims.

Many of the marchers held posters with peaceful appeals and condemnations of racism.
