Bulgarian Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva resigned after media wrote that the luxurious apartments, belonging to Tsacheva and three other members of the ruling GERB party, have been acquired at below market prices, Reuters reported.

At the same time, Tsacheva rejected the accusations and stated that she appealed to the Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the terms on which she had bought the apartment in Sofia last year.

Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov accepted her resignation after meeting with the Minister early on Saturday.

“The two discussed the real estate deal linked with her name. Minister Tsacheva told the prime minister that she quit and did not want the tensions [around the deal] to affect the government’s work,” the press office said in a statement.
