The Japanese government has lodged a protest with South Korea to stop the ocean survey using drones near the Takeshima Islands in Sea of Japan, NHK reported.

South Korea will reportedly conduct survey around the Takeshima Islands, which South Korea calls Dokdo, as well as around Ulleungdo Island located to the west.

After World War II, Takeshima Islands became Korean.  The islands are also known as the Liancourt Rocks. Japan proposes Korea to bring the issue of the islands to the International Court of Justice. South Korea believes that there is no dispute over the Islands, as historically, geographically and legally they are Korean.
