YEREVAN. – The Armenian lawmakers are debating the amendments to the law on pensions during a regular four-day session on Tuesday.

Smbast Saghiyan, Deputy Minsiter of Labor and Social Affairs, presented the bill saying it is an important move for elimination of extreme poverty in Armenia.

The deputy minister said if the bill is approved, it will create an additional burden on the budget.

“Pensioners will get additional payment to the pensions they received during the first three months of 2019,” the official explained.

People above 65 who do not have the minimum work experience for receiving a pension, as well as persons with disabilities of the first group who do not have the minimum work experience. Labor pensions received by the working population will not be increased.
