I suggest holding one of the sessions of the National Assembly in Gyumri. This is what Deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction Sergey Bagratyan declared in the National Assembly on 26 March.

“We’ll try to overcome the obstacle and discuss the issues through direct contact with citizens. We need to pay heed to the issues since this will provide the opportunity to introduce new laws,” Bagratyan said.

As the MP stated, this initiative will be helpful in the cases when the government doesn’t manage to present the initiatives and the parliament doesn’t want to do it independently.

He also stated that this serves as a good way of becoming familiar with the cultural life in Armenia and establish contacts with the population. “Armenia has only ten provinces, and the National Assembly can hold outgoing sessions in all ten provinces. The people constantly complain that MPs remember them only during elections. In any case, we can refute that ten times,” he joked.
