Armenia’s Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan is in the US to participate in the UN Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial Conference and had a meeting with Governor of Kansas Laura Kelly. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page.
“Today the delegation of Davit Tonoyan and Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Varuzhan Nersisyan were received by Governor of the State of Kansas Laura Kelly. From the outset, Commander of the Kansas Army National Guard, Major-General Lee Tafanelli introduced the military cooperation programs and directions for military cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the State of Kansas to Kelly. During the meeting, Minister Tonoyan expressed gratitude to the governor for the high level of cooperation with the National Guard and the several projects under implementation. The perspectives for cooperation between the State of Kansas and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia were discussed. During the meeting, Davit Tonoyan handed historic materials prepared by the Armenian Assembly of America over to Governor Kelly, presenting the humanitarian missions that the US that have been linked to Armenia and the Armenian people for nearly a century.
Governor Laura Kelly declared and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan transmitted the proclamation released in this regard, by which the 27th of March 2019 was declared the day of cooperation of the Republic of Armenia and the State of Kansas,” wrote Hovhannisyan.
