When commenting on the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict at a meeting with the Armenian community in New York, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan announced that he is changing the format of the “territories in exchange for peace” concept, the Voice of America Armenian Service reported.

“I, as Defense Minister, say I’ve modified the “territories in exchange for peace” format, Tonoyan said. “We [Armenia] will do the opposite: ‘A new war in exchange for new territories.’”

“Nothing will be conceded,” he stressed. “[But] compromises are possible.”

The minister added that Armenia will increase its military assault units.

“We will get rid of that trench condition, constant defense state,” Davit Tonoyan said. “We will increase the number of those [military] divisions that can move the military actions to the territory of the adversary.”
