A short while ago, Ara Shirinyan was elected chairperson of the Council of the Public Television and Radio Company of Armenia based on the results of the tender announced for filling the vacancy for chairperson of the Council of the Public Television and Radio Company of Armenia on 11 March.

Ara Shirinyan garnered 3 votes, while Mesrop Movsesyan and Tigran Hakobyan each garnered 1 vote.

There were 23 candidates who had applied to participate in the commission established for the tender (Decision N 64-A of 28 July 24), including Levon Davtyan, Hamlet Ghushchyan, Hovhannes Tovmasyan, Artur Bakhtamyan, Samvel Gabrielyan, Mesrop Movsesyan, Ara Shirinyan, Vardkes Avetisyan, Vahram Kocharyan, Aram Sukiasyan, Armen Mkrtchyan, Tigran Rshtuni, Arayik Manukyan, Tigran Hakobyan, Irina Barseghyan, Movses Gasparyan, Harutyun Berberyan, Lavrenti Mirzoyan, Nune Elmasyan, Tamara Gevorgyan, Gagik Buniatyan, Karine Hakobyan and Vladimir Hayrapetyan.
