The risk of a collision between the ISS and the wreckage when India tested anti-satellite weapons increased by over 40%, said NASA head Jim Bridenstine.

"What we are tracking right now, objects big enough to track -- we're talking about 10 centimeters (six inches) or bigger -- about 60 pieces have been tracked," India Today reported quoting Bridenstine. 

Last week, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Indian-Produced rocket successfully hit a satellite in near-earth orbit.

According to him, before that, only three countries in the world - the US, Russia and China - have achieved this.
