South Korea is considering sending a special envoy to North Korea as part of its efforts to get stalled nuclear talks back on track, AP reported.

Negotiations over the North Korean nuclear program have remained stalemated after the second summit of US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Vietnam in February. Negotiations ended without any agreement.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in will leave for Washington next week to discuss the nuclear diplomacy with Trump.

Moon’s national security adviser, Chung Eui-yong told lawmakers that the government is also considering sending a special envoy to North Korea.
