Vinegrowers and Winemakers Association of Artsakh will officially present to the public its new projects that are aimed at promoting Artsakh wines worldwide on April 7th in Stepanakert.

With the increase of public interest towards new terroirs and yet unknown indigenous local grape varieties, Republic of Artsakh has a strong potential of taking its solid place on the world viticultural arena. Khndoghni, native to Artsakh varietal used to make rich red wines, is being highly evaluated by professionals and receives promising reviews by wine critics. Wines from Khndoghni grapes vary in taste, depending on the terroir (region where the grapes were harvested) and on the crafting process.

In the frames of the projects for 2019 Association of Winemakers and Vinegrowers of Artsakh on April 7th in Stepanakert will hold Artsakh Wines Winetasting event, where more than 15 winemakers of Artsakh will present their wineries and wines. This is the first among the series of annual events, where any winemaker, notwithstanding of its winery size, gets a chance to tell the world about his achievements, promote the wine and receive consulting and assistance with various winemaking questions. To evaluate current Artsakh wines available on the market, Association has specially invited Artur Sarkissyan Honored Sommelier of Russia, Author of Annual wine guides “Wines of Russia” and “Wines of Armenia”, wine critic, who will perform “blind degustation” of selected Artsakh wines; the results will be announced during the official part of the event.

To share his experience of working with Khndoghni varietal, Vaghe Keushgerian, founder of “Wineworks” wine consulting firm, offering strategic winery and marketing management support, will also take part in the event.

Among participants there will be high-rank Government officials, representatives from hotels and restaurants business in Artsakh and wine connoisseurs.
