YEREVAN. – On the margins of the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Qatar, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, on Monday met with President Siegfried Bracke of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the NA news service that the parties discussed the political changes that occurred in Armenia. The Armenian parliament speaker briefed his Belgian colleague on the developments in Armenia following last year’s revolution in the country.

Also, the interlocutors reflected on the agenda of transitional justice that is planned to be introduced in Armenia. Welcoming the democratic changes in Armenia, Bracke, for his part, informed about the respective support by Belgian parliamentarians.

The parties agreed to organize knowhow exchange programs for their staff, and toward strengthening institutional ties between the two countries.

Separately, Ararat Mirzoyan underscored the need for the Belgian legislature’s ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which Armenia and the European Union have signed. President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, in turn, expressed readiness to contribute to the Belgian legislature’s ratification of this document within a short period of time.
