On 9 April, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received newly appointed US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Lynne Tracy at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

His Holiness congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and wished that she implemented her mission successfully in Armenia. With satisfaction, the Catholicos of All Armenians stated the existing friendship and cooperation between Armenia and the US.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the hardships and challenges facing Armenia, as well as the peacemaking efforts that the spiritual leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan are making for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

His Holiness Karekin II and US Ambassador Tracy also talked about the mission that the Armenian Church has played and continues to play in the lives of Armenians in terms of religion and national preservation.
