Almost all laws existing in Armenia and targeted at regulation of our activities have shortcomings and require amendments. This is what President of the National Commission on Television and Radio Tigran Hakobyan said while presenting the report on the activities of the National Commission on Television and Radio in 2018 during the session of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly of Armenia on 10 April.

According to him, throughout its existence, the Commission has carried out serious and prolific activities. “Armenia has 128 television companies and radio stations, 118 of which have licenses, 7 are public companies, and they need to be licensed by law. There are also three television companies, the shows of which are rebroadcast in the territory of Armenia under an interstate agreement. Those companies are MIR TV, Rosia TV and the Russian First Channel,” Hakobyan clarified, adding that out of 118 television companies and radio stations, 100 are television companies and 18 are radio stations.
