Armenia's Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan received on Wednesday participants of the session of the Anti-Air Defense Coordinating Committee adjunct to the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS, the Defense Ministry's press service reported.

The Anti-Air Defense Coordinating Committee adjunct to the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS held its 50th-anniversary session at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. According to the 2019 working plan of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS, among the participants of the session were representatives of the defense ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS and military production enterprises, as well as the heads of baseline organizations for the examination of anti-air defense issues and personnel preparation in the CIS.

During the meeting, the main directions of the CIS Anti-Air Defense system development were discussed. Tonoyan attached importance to the further development of cooperation in the field of air defense - one of the priority directions of Armenia's international military cooperation.

Participants of the 50th-anniversary session visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial on April 10 to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
