On 12 April, the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Governance, Agriculture and Environment gave consent to the bill on setting up several task forces in the environmental protection sector, reports Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The duties of those task forces will include effective management of water resources, analysis of the laws on the mining industry and Lake Sevan, animal protection, effective implementation of and oversight over the Aarhus Convention, analysis of the basis for the law on environmental impact assessment and effective management of forests. The author of the bill is Deputy of the My Step faction Mary Galstyan.
