Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who is on a working visit to the United States, as well as head of the Central Bank of Armenia, Artur Javadyan had meetings with IMF Deputy Managing Director, Tao Zhang and Director of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department, Jihad Azour on Thursday. They also met with IMF Dutch Sub-Group Executive Director Anthony De Lannoy and IMF Executive Director Richard Doornbosch on Friday, the government's press service reported.

During the meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the programs implemented with the IMF for Armenia and expressed hope that the existing cooperation will be further developed thanks to joint efforts.

The interlocutors touched upon the tax reforms to be implemented in Armenia, exchanged views on the steps necessary to develop the capital market. Presenting the Government's priorities, Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of joint work with the partners, supporting the development of Armenia.

Deputy Prime Minister also met with European Investment Bank's Vice-president Vazil Hudak on April 12.

Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the growing cooperation with the European Investment Bank and highlighted the consulting support from the EIB, which essentially raises the targeted programs and develops the professional capacities for the effective implementation of future projects. Mher Grigoryan expressed hope that the EIB will be actively engaged in direct investments in the private sector, which will directly contribute to the development of modern business culture and business transparency in the country.

The interlocutors discussed the development of cooperation between Armenia and EIB in new directions, in particular, water management and energy efficiency. At the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of the future EIB projects' portfolio, which will allow to develop proposals for new projects and to consider future cooperation opportunities.
