For the first time in the history of Finland, no political party has garnered at least 20 percent of the votes in the country’s parliamentary elections; and the three leading parties have received close votes, the Finnish Ministry of Justice informed.

As per the report, after counting 100 percent of the ballots cast, the opposition Social Democratic Party of Finland has amassed 17.7 percent of the votes, or 40 seats in parliament; the nationalist the Finns Party received 17.5 percent, or 39 seats; the National Coalition Party got 17 percent of votes, or 38 seats; the ruling Centre Party of Finland received 13.8 percent, or 31 seats; the Green League party—11.5 percent, or 20 seats; and the rest of the running political forces garnered less than 10 percent of the ballots that were cast Sunday.

The final official results of the parliamentary elections in Finland will be announced on Wednesday.
