On 17 April, during the working visit to Paris, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly Marielle de Sarnez, reports the news service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Mnatsakanyan stated that his visit serves as a good opportunity to touch upon the wide agenda of Armenian-French relations and the traditionally close friendship between the two peoples.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a broad range of issues related to the Armenian-French agenda. The interlocutors highly appreciated the role of parliamentary diplomacy and reaffirmed the willingness to expand close cooperation in this sector. Mnatsakanyan informed Marielle de Sarnez about the newly established Armenia-France Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Armenia.

Minister Mnatsakanyan touched upon Armenia’s interior political developments and the wide agenda of reforms being implemented by the Armenian government.

Touching upon the Armenia-EU relations, Mnatsakanyan attached special importance to the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement in terms of advancement of the process of implementation of the reforms underway in Armenia and the government’s development agenda and in terms of the promotion of cooperation with the EU and EU member states in the bilateral and multilateral formats.
