On April 18, the trial over the case of Igor Khachaturov vs. Surik Khachatryan was supposed to be held under the chairmanship of Judge Grigory Vardanyan at the residence of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan in Ajapnyak District, but only Khachaturov’s attorney Gurgen Malkhasyan had shown up.

Igor Khachaturov is the son of former Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Yuri Khachaturov and is the owner of the land located at the peak of Victory Park, and the famous mansion of former governor of Syunik Province Surik Khachatryan is built next to the land. The neighbors haven’t been coming to terms over the 450 square meter land for a long time now, and now they are disputing in court.

Igor Khachaturov has sued Surik Khachatryan and his wife, Loreta Barseghyan, demanding the court to bind the respondent to destroy the structure and not impede activities to make the land look like it used to.

According to Khachatryan’s and Barseghyan’s attorney Martin Zilfugharyan, there was a time when Igor Khachaturov’s father and Surik Khachatryan had an agreement on disposal of the land.

When asked if Igor Khachaturov had suggested that Khachatryan destroy the structure voluntarily, the attorney said he had suggested, but there has not been any action taken to this day.

Armenian News-NEWS.am tried to contact the respondent, but Martin Zilfugharyan hasn’t been answering our phone calls for a long time.
