Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin today visited the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.

Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation Harutyun Marutyan introduced the ambassador and the accompanying guests to the history of construction of the memorial complex and explained its symbolism. Ambassador Kopirkin and representatives of the Russian embassy laid flowers at the eternal flame and respected the memory of the Holy Martyrs with a moment of silence.

The guests also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum where guide Astghik Yedigaryan introduced the guests to a museum exhibition featuring samples and documents certifying the first genocide of the 20th century. At the end of the visit, Ambassador Kopirkin left a note in the register for guests of honor.

The director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation presented Russian-language books devoted to the history of the Armenian Genocide as gifts to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation. The books are published by the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
