Examination of the petition on release of former chairman of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union Manvel Grigoryan on AMD 10 million bail is over.  The final decision will be announced on Arpil 22.

It was noted that 10 months have passed since Manvel Grigoryan's detention. The former deputy arrested on June 19, 2018, by Judge Marine Melkonyan's decision.

In conversation with journalists Grigoryan's attorney Arsen Mkrtchyan said that he does not expect something new from Judge Marine Melkonyan.

"Manvel Grigoryan's health condition has deteriorated as a result of this judge's actions. In my opinion, the presiding judge deliberately makes detention decisions, " he said, reminding that the matter is about a person with incompatible diseases.

Manvel Grigoryan is remanded in custody.

On March 15, the capital city Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction extended his custody period for two more months.

Grigoryan is charged with illegal possession of arms, tax evasion, embezzlement and appropriation of the budget funds, and organizing property theft by extortion.

The preliminary investigation into the separate case in the criminal case brought against him and his wife Nazik Amiryan is over. In addition, an arrest warrant has been issued for his son, Arman Grigoryan.

On March 25, Manvel Grigoryan was taken from a Yerevan penitentiary to a hospital.
