The court lifted ban on LBTI-parades in Turkey's capital city Ankara after Turkish LGBT rights group Kaos GL’s appeal was successful.

The ban has been in effect since autumn 2017, but GL appealed the ban in court.

Amnesty International director for Europe Fotis Filippou said it was a momentous day for LGBTI people in Turkey and a huge victory for activists.
