U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated Vladimir Zelensky on his victory in the Ukrainian presidential election, U.S. special representative on Ukraine Kurt Volker tweeted.

“President Trump called to congratulate Volodymyr Zelensky for his electoral victory and the Ukrainian people for a peaceful & democratic election. We will continue to support efforts to restore its territorial integrity and counter aggression,” he tweeted. 

Earlier the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, NATO Secretary General and the President of Poland congregated Zelensky.

Zelensky is winning by 73 percent with 70 percent of ballots being counted. Poroshenko polled 24.66 percent.
