Carlos Ghosn, the former head of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi automobile alliance, charged with embezzling Nissan funds, WSJ reported.

According to the source, millions of dollars was stolen as a result of a fraudulent scheme while transferring money from a corporation to Oman to a passenger car trading company operating there.

On Monday, the term of Carlos Ghosn’s custody set by the court expires. Previously, he had already been charged with embezzling or misusing Nissan funds.

The new prosecution allows Ghosn to remain in the prison cell, but the lawyers of the ex-manager are said to intend to immediately file a lawsuit demanding his release on bail.
