Two people died as a result of a powerful tornado that struck the city of Ruston in the US state of Louisiana on Thursday, the AP reported.
As a result, the tornado destroyed buildings, damaged cars and electrical wires.
National Weather Service hydrologist C. S. Ross said it appears the tornado cut a track over 130 miles (209 kilometers) from eastern Texas to near the Louisiana-Arkansas border.
Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker, in his turn, said the city was directly hit by a tornado overnight.
