UK prisoners could be handed the keys to their cells as reward for good behavior, The Guardian reported. 

Prison authorities are expected to give prisoners keys to their cells so that they can spend more time outside.

Convicts will be able to have longer visits, as well as regularly go to the gym and choose the time to go to the shower.

It clarifies that some prisoners will receive permission to close the doors of their cells when they want it.
