An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hit on Tuesday night southern Iran, the seismological network of the Hong Kong Observatory reported.

Its epicenter was on the Persian Gulf coast, 160 km south-west of the port city of Bandar Abbas (the administrative center of Hormozgan Province).

There have been no reports on victims or destructions yet, TASS reported.
