YEREVAN. – Armenia needs a broad consolidation of “healthy forces”, second president Robert Kocharyan said in an interview with the Voice of Armenia newspaper.

However, he believes the single center of consolidation will not be formed in a while, but there will be active interaction between the opposition forces.

“Politically active intellectual part of society will concentrate there,” he said.

Kocharyan believes that consolidation will ultimately need to radicalization of the parliamentary opposition, otherwise they would lose their voters.

“The process of consolidation and formation of partnership in the opposition field will be over in fall, and political struggle will be of massive charected,” the ex-president added.

Robert Kocharyan noted that he intends to oppose the incumbent authorities with the experience of a manager, a conceptual program of the economic and social development of the country and a professional, predictable team of managers.

“I have experience of successful presidency in Karabakh and Armenia. In the past 10 years, I was a member of the board of directors of a large investment company operating in various sectors of the economy. So I have a unique experience of military and state building, large-scale socio-economic reforms and an understanding of the mechanisms of functioning of modern business. Are there many people with such experience in Armenia? ”he wonders.

Commenting on the start of the presidential race in the Republic of Artsakh and whether he believes that the revolution could be exported from Armenia, which could lead to early parliamentary and presidential elections, Kocharian noted: “I hope this will not happen, despite the persistent efforts of the Armenian authorities. Early elections are usually a reflection of the domestic political crisis, and there are definitely no such signs in Karabakh. It’s irresponsible to create a man-made crisis there, it will become a betrayal of national interests. Karabakh must be firm and reject any attempt at destructive intervention. ”
