The US government plans to cut financial assistance for mine clearance in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic). This is what political scientist Suren Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page.
“This program is financed by the USAID, and its suspension is a strong political message. I urge my US-based friends to join the campaign launched by the Armenian National Committee of America. I restate that this will have serious political consequences. It will become a political and legal precedent, the consequences of which we all realize.
P.S.: The United States is the only country in the world after Armenia which, not having recognized the independence of Artsakh, provides direct assistance to Stepanakert,” he wrote.
