The results of the “Shield 2019” special border operation were summed up today by Director of the National Security Service of Armenia, Major-General Artur Vanetsyan, representatives of the departments of the National Security Service and the command of the Border Guard Troops at the administrative complex of the Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service of Armenia, as reported the press center of the National Security Service.

In his concluding speech, commander of the Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service, Colonel Vaghinak Sargsyan presented the results of the command staff exercise conducted within the framework of the special border operation, indicated the omissions and presented recommendations to raise the level of effectiveness of the actions of border guard troops in case of escalation of the situation on the state border.

This was the first time that the Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service conducted a military exercise in this format, providing the commanders of the Border Guard Troops to assess their potential and capabilities.

Artur Vanetsyan positively assessed the results of the “Shield 2019” special border operation and expressed gratitude to the whole personnel for their active participation and faithful service.

“The geopolitical developments unfolding right next to our country bind us to be alert, and it is the border guard troops that have to be the most responsible. Only those who don’t work don’t make mistakes, but here it is much more important to see and identify the mistakes and make efforts to correct those mistakes,” Director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan said.
