Chair of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia Mikayel Melkumyan is concerned about the news about the massive dismissal of Armenian employees of Sochi International Airport. Melkumyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that this must not be overlooked, and the relevant bodies must closely follow the developments and establish whether this is true and what the reason for dismissal is. He added that he has established contact with Armenia’s Consul General in Rostov-na-Don Vardan Asoyan.

“Armenia’s relevant bodies, including the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and Armenia’s consulate general in Rostov-na-Don must closely follow the developments and turn this into a subject for discussion. As chairman of the committee on regional and Eurasian integration affairs, I will keep this in focus and will raise the issue during meetings with my colleagues of the State Duma,” he stated.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am had reported that the Armenian employees of Sochi International Airport had issued a statement stating that they are being dismissed due to their nationality.
