Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the US sanctions imposed on him ‘failure’ of diplomacy.
His remarks came during the press conference in Tehran, AP reported.
"Imposing sanctions against a foreign minister means failure” for any efforts at negotiations, he said, adding that it also means the side imposing the measures is "opposing talks.”
A US high-ranking administration’s representative announced on July 30 that the US would impose sanctions on Zarif.
Entering the sanctions list means freezing assets in the US and prohibiting US citizens or companies from doing business with its defendants.
