The pan-Armenian rally for national unity has kicked off in Stepanakert (capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) and is being held with the participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Bako Sahakyan. As reported Armenian News-NEWS.am’s correspondent, Bako Sahakyan is delivering his opening remarks (PHOTOS).

The Government of Artsakh wrote the following on its Facebook page: “The Pan-Armenian Games are the dissemination of the ideas of the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triumvirate and solidarity among all Armenians around the world. Your participation in these major events will show once again the potential to specify our unified position on pan-national priorities, consolidate our potential and stand united as one.”

The administrations of various administrative districts of Artsakh are actively participating in the organizing of today’s rally.

In particular, the administration of Kashatagh region has declared that it is assuming the transportation of the residents of Kashatagh and their participation in the event, and on August 5, it will organize free transportation from and to Berdzor and Stepanakert.

Tomorrow Stepanakert will host the opening of the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games, which will be held in Armenia and Artsakh from August 5 to 17. The solemn opening ceremony will be held on August 6 at Stepan Shahumyan Republican Stadium in Stepanakert, and the closing ceremony will be held on August 17 at Liberty Square in Yerevan.

According to Chairman of the World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games Ishkhan Zakaryan, this year, the Games have gathered more than 5,244 participants from 161 cities of 35 countries.

During his leave, Nikol Pashinyan addressed the citizens of Artsakh through a live Facebook broadcast, announcing about a major statement to be made on August 5.
