Baku is distorting the statement that the Prime Minister of Armenia made at the rally in Stepanakert for its dishonest goals.

This is what Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), Head of the Central Information Department of the Office of the President Davit Babayan said, commenting on Baku’s response to the statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“When the Prime Minister of Armenia was talking about the idea of unification, he was implying the ideals of the nation and that which all Armenians of the world are aspiring to achieve.

This doesn’t imply dismantling of the statehood of Artsakh. All us Armenians want reunification, and we’re not hiding it. However, we also need to take into consideration the global, regional and geopolitical factors. From the perspective of those factors, the two Armenian states are strengthening their positions, and this allows to resist many challenges effectively. As for Azerbaijan, it’s trying to present these statements in its favor for its dishonest goals, overlooking the other ideas that Pashinyan expressed in regard to democracy in Artsakh,” Babayan said.

Responding to the question why Azerbaijan doesn’t make an attempt to gain the sympathy of its citizens when it makes claims about the return of lands and citizens and threatens the citizens of Artsakh, Babayan noted that this is really a rather strange policy.
