The number of tourists arriving in Armenia from several countries has recorded an impressive growth in the first six months of this year. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (RA), Nikol Pashinyan, noted this in a Facebook post.

“Particularly, the number of tourists who arrived from Germany grew by 59.5 percent, those who arrived from China—by 53.5 percent, those who arrived from the Netherlands—by 34.9 percent, those who arrived from Switzerland—by 30 percent, those who arrived from the UAE—by 29.7 percent, those who arrived from Greece—by 29 percent, those who arrived from Italy—by 24.4 percent, those who arrived from Great Britain—by 22.9 percent, those who arrived from Japan—by 22.2 percent, those who arrived from Russia—by 19 percent, those who arrived from Sweden—by 19 percent, those who arrived from the USA—by 15 percent, those who arrived from France—by 13 percent,” he added. “Overall, we [Armenia] have a 12.8-percent growth in tourism in the first half of the year.

“According to the CB [Central Bank] estimates, tourists have spent close 120 million [US] dollars more money in Armenia this year than last year. Each and every citizen of the RA can petition to have his share from this money.

“I also want to remind [you] how important it is to provide proper services to tourists so that they leave Armenia with good impressions and raise our country’s recognition and image throughout the world.”
