The monument to Sasha Galstyan and the other Armenian military servicemen who were killed in the April 2016 war was unveiled Monday in Metsamor town, in Armavir Province of Armenia.

The relatives of these fallen soldiers, Deputy Defense Minister Davit Balayan, and Prime Minister’s wife Anna Hakobyan were on hand at this event.

The monument was unveiled by the governor Hambardzum Matevosyan of Armavir Province.

Artur Baghdasaryan, the creator of this monument, told reporters that it was designed taking into account the meaning of eternity and the idea of patriotism.

“[The monument] will unite our people and our heroes,” he said. “It pursues the goal of unity, that this recollection will stay alive, and the lives of the youth will serve as an example for future generations.”
