The adversary has been shooting more than usual over the past two weeks due to engineering works. This is what Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Gabriel Balayan told journalists today.

“As the Ministry of Defense had reported, the shootings are mainly the result of engineering works. Both parties are intensively performing engineering works, and our position on the policy of the Ministry of Defense is to not let the adversary advance in terms of positions and strengthening of those positions,” Balayan said.

The deputy defense minister added that the Armenian party has made significant achievements in almost all borderline regions of Armenia in terms of engineering works.

“Yesterday I visited the sector in Khachik village, and I must say that the situation was relatively calm. There were few or almost no shootings. There were some shootings in the direction of Zangakatun, but overall, it is safe to say that the situation is under the control on the side of the Armenian party,” he said.
