Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received today United Nations Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp, as reported the Office of Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan.

In the beginning, the parties touched upon Armenia’s participation in the High-Level Political Forum hosted by the United Nations Office at Geneva in July.

Issues on coordination of the process of nationalization of the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed. Tigran Avinyan emphasized that the Armenian government is committed to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and, in this context, touched upon Armenia’s strategy on long-term development and transformation.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that Armenia is considering the possibility of presenting the Voluntary National Review for implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals within the scope of the UN High-Level Political Forum to be held in 2020.

The interlocutors also discussed the details of the development of the Armenia-UN Partnership Framework Document and, in this regard, attached importance to the effective partnership established between the Armenian government and the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator.
