Operation of the Amulsar Gold Mine is inadmissible. This is what participant of the rally in the city of Jermuk, doctor, physiotherapist Hasmik Sargsyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The doctor reminded that operation of the gold mine will not only have a negative impact, but will also crush the pride of Armenia, that is, Jermuk resort, which has been known for more than a century. Hasmik Sargsyan stressed that operation of the gold mine will also lead to the pollution of Lake Sevan and the collapse of the tunnel leading to Lake Sevan. It will also cause deterioration of the environment and diseases among the population.

During the rally, the residents of Jermuk unanimously said “no” to the plan for operation of the Amulsar gold mine. The statement on blocking the mine, addressed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the demand for termination of the project, was read during the rally.
