Today the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Grape Blessing Day (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary), which is the 4th of the 5 holidays on the holiday calendar of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
According to tradition, a while after the Ascension of Jesus Christ, the angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary and informed that she would meet her Son again soon. Saint Mary climbed the Mount of Olives from where her Son had ascended, prayed, called friends and bid farewell. That night, her soul separated from her body.
People take the tiding of immortality to the tombs of the deceased a day after the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
