US President Donald Trump does not want the United States to do business with Chinese Huawei, despite the fact that the administration is considering extending the grace period for the company, Reuters reported.
The US Commerce Department is expected to extend the deferral granted by Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, which will allow the Chinese firm to purchase goods from US companies.
Trump told reporters that he does not want to do business with Huawei for reasons of national security.
According to him, certain areas of Huawei’s business may be exempted from the ban, but it will be very difficult.
Earlier, Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow said that the Commerce Department will extend the licensing process of Huawei for three months as goodwill amid trade negotiations with China.
