Ex-president Almazbek Atambayev will remain in the pre-trial detention center until October 26, his lawyer Sergey Slesarev told reporters.

Earlier, the Bishkek City Court left the former head of state Almazbek Atambayev in custody in the pre-trial detention center until August 26, Sputnik-Kyrgyzstan reported.

As reported earlier, in the evening in the village of Koi Tash, the special forces tried to conduct an operation to detain Atambayev, but the assault was repulsed by his supporters. On August 8, law enforcement officers conducted another assault, and as a result, the politician surrendered. Several of his supporters were also arrested.

Atambayev is charged with 14 criminal cases. According to his lawyer, the ex-president has not answered a single question since the beginning of the investigation, since he believes that actions against him are illegal.
