Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Javadyan received the delegation led by Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Jihad Azour.

Greeting the guests, with satisfaction, Javadyan stated that the partnership between Armenia and the IMF has always been fruitful and important and highly appreciated the IMF’s role in presenting Armenia’s macroeconomic developments to foreign investors and partners impartially.

Javadyan recalled the fact that the IMF Board approved the provision of Stand-By loans to Armenia for a 36-month term in May 2019 and mentioned the efforts that the IMF had invested in the complete review of the Financial Sector Assessment Program for Armenia, particularly stressing the fact that the analyses of the priorities for financial growth in the report play an active role in maintaining Armenia’s financial stability and are part of the Central Bank’s agenda.

The head of the Central Bank briefly presented the current developments with respect to economic growth, monetary-credit policy and financial stability and the reforms being implemented by the government and answered questions from the guests.
