The US is ready to resume nuclear talks with North Korea, PressTV reported.

This statement was made the day after the completion of the joint military drills of the US and South Korea.

“We are prepared to engage as soon as we hear from our counterparts in North Korea,” said US special representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun.

During the 10-day drills of the US and South Korea, North Korea carried out nuclear launches and testing of other weapons.

Biegun also said that Trump instructed his team to resume talks with North Korea at the working level in accordance with the deal of the heads of both states reached during the summit in late June.

Biegun also denied information in some media that he would be appointed as the new US ambassador to Russia.
