The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on Wednesday received chief commercial officer David O’Brien, and director of route development Kate Sherry of Ryanair.

The PM noted that the Armenian government has declared tourism a priority, this sector has great potential for development, and, in this context, the development of civil aviation is an important step. In Pashinyan’s words, this meeting with the Ryanair representatives is a good occasion to discuss the opportunities for cooperation.

O’Brien, for his part, said Ryanair plans to enter the aviation market of Armenia in the near future and respective discussions are underway with the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia and Zvartnots International Airport of capital city Yerevan. Also, he presented their vision for operating in Armenia, and spoke about flights from Armenia to new destinations, the tariff policy, etc.

Welcoming Ryanair’s plans to enter Armenia’s market, Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed the Armenian government’s readiness to assist this process as much as possible.
