From August 19 to 22, the NATO group providing advisory support to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia with respect to the development of defense education and integrity building was in Armenia.

The aim of the visit was to participate in the launch of the pilot program for the subject “Good Governance and Integrity Building” at the military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and hold professional discussions. The administrators and professors of relevant subdivisions of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute and the Marshal Armenak Khanperyants Military Aviation Institute.

The advisory group on Monday was received by Head of the Center for Human Rights and Integrity Building at the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Colonel Alexander Avetisyan. The current state of implementation of the self-assessment of NATO’s Building Integrity Program and the organizing of the expected events were discussed during the meeting, and NATO’s representatives mentioned, with satisfaction, the progress made within the framework of the self-assessment process and expressed willingness to expand cooperation in this direction.

On August 20 and 21, the advisory group paid visits to military educational institutions where the pilot program for the subject “Good Governance and Integrity Building” was launched for the first-year cadets of the year 2019. The advisory group’s visit was recapped during a meeting with representatives of the relevant subdivisions of the Ministry of Defense.
